Khalil Amaru, a neo-soul and alternative R&B artist hailing from Ypsilanti, Michigan, carries a rich musical legacy, with a lineage of musicians spanning generations. His artistry weaves soulful ballads with elements of lo-fi and R&B, offering melodies that reflect the depth and complexity of the human experience.

Inspired by icons like Stevie Wonder, Cleo Sol, and Daniel Caesar, Khalil released his debut EP, Love Pains, in April 2024. The project introduced listeners to his poignant exploration of love, heartbreak, introspection, and resilience. He’s now working on his highly anticipated follow-up Album, BEIGE, set for release in June 2025, which promises to continue his journey of soulful storytelling.

Khalil’s talent has garnered national recognition, including features on NPR, WXPN, WFMZ, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Philly Soul Now. He was the winner of WXPN’s first annual Summer Songwriting Challenge and performed at his first festival, the Xponential Music Festival. Ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election, Khalil joined NPR’s Morning Edition for their Philadelphia news segment, engaging over 8 million listeners.
